Vinyl is a rigid PVC panel system, UV-stabilized to hold its shape and color for decades without paint or stain. Below is the full line we install across Columbia and the Midlands, with available heights and the finish tier for each.

Gap-free vertical boards. The standard full-privacy panel, and the only style offered in a 7-foot height.

Seamless horizontal panels. Full privacy in the contemporary orientation, with no visible seams between boards.
Pool codeSolid boards below a lattice insert. Anchors on flat and sloping grade, which makes it the pick for a graded yard.

Gap-free privacy below, open spindles at eye level. Keeps the sightline out without giving up the screen.

Open horizontal slats, identical from both sides. The louvered look, in the textured woodgrain finishes.

Vertical boards on 3-inch spacing. Light and air through the line, with most of the screen intact.

Vertical boards on 6-inch spacing. The most open of the semi-private panels.

The dog-eared picket profile carried up to full fence height.

Board-on-board. Built as a tailored shadowbox or with the boards set at an angle for a louvered face.

Angled horizontal louvers, rated to the stringent wind codes. Privacy with airflow through the panel.
Pool codeWide flat pickets with up to 3½ inches between them. Meets pool code and holds pets.

Slender 1½-inch pickets with pyramid caps, in a straight or scalloped top line.

Dog-eared pickets, straight or scalloped. The plain-spoken garden and walkway fence.

Wide pickets topped with spade caps on a straight top line.

Open rail fencing in 2, 3, and 4-rail profiles. Sets the boundary without closing the view.

Crossbuck rail. The farm-and-paddock profile, in a non-yellowing white.

Square rails set at a slight angle. A sharper line than standard ranch rail.

Matte-black aluminum frame with interlocking vinyl infill, set vertical or horizontal. A screen topper is optional.
Pool codeGap-free vinyl two-thirds of the way up with a decorative screen panel above. A 72-inch backdrop for a patio or pool.
Pool codeSolid white vinyl boards below, black aluminum balusters above. The two-tone, high-contrast panel.

Steel-reinforced molded panel with a stone texture. Heavy enough to absorb road noise, stackable to 12 feet.
Pool codeThe same molded panel in four woodgrain finishes. Cuts noise and meets strict pool code.
The tier on each style card is a real construction difference, not just a color chart. Here is what each one means and the finishes it comes in.
An embossed grain texture you can feel, in variegated color blends. The closest vinyl gets to stained lumber — and the tier behind the 7-foot Newbury height.
Weathered Blend
Sierra Blend
Brazilian Blend
Arctic BlendWood-tone color variegation on a smooth face. The wood look at a step down in price, without the embossed texture.
Weathered Aspen
Mesquite
Coastal Cedar
Cypress
Dark WalnutOne uniform color, smooth face — the classic freshly-painted vinyl look. The most economical tier, and the only one on most picket and rail styles.
White
Sand
Clay
GrayNot extruded vinyl at all: steel-reinforced molded polyethylene with the stone or wood texture molded through the panel. Much heavier, absorbs road noise, stackable to 12 feet.
Custom heights and gates are matched to your yard and access. Not every style is stocked in every height, so we confirm availability before it goes in the contract.
Vinyl earns its place as the low-maintenance, long-haul fence. Once it's in, you're done: no sanding, staining, sealing, or repainting, ever. It won't rot, warp, splinter, or feed termites the way wood can, and a quick rinse with a garden hose brings the finish right back.
Quality vinyl is UV-stabilized, so it holds its color instead of fading or yellowing, and most panels carry a 20-to-30-year (often lifetime) manufacturer warranty. It costs more than wood up front, but with no upkeep bill year after year, it often costs less over the life of the fence, and it keeps that clean, finished look the whole time.

Every yard is different, so we set the exact number in writing after we walk the property. A few things move it most:
Want real numbers? Our Midlands fence cost guide breaks down price ranges by material and linear foot. Whatever your number, it's set in the contract before any post hole is dug. No surprise billing.

Vinyl is well-suited to South Carolina's climate. It won't rot in our humidity or warp in the summer heat the way wood can, and UV-stabilized panels resist the fading that strong Carolina sun causes over time. Set on properly spaced posts in concrete footings, a vinyl fence stands up to Midlands wind and storms, and because it never needs refinishing, it shrugs off the heat-and-humidity cycle that has you re-staining a wood fence every couple of years.

A quality vinyl fence typically lasts 20–30+ years with almost no maintenance. It won't rot, warp, or need painting. Occasional rinsing keeps it looking new. It's one of the longest-lasting fence materials in SC's climate.
Vinyl costs more upfront than wood but needs no staining or sealing and lasts longer, so it can cost less over its life. Wood offers a natural look for less initial cost. Chonko Construction helps you compare for your goals.
Cost depends on style, height, and length. Every Chonko Construction project starts with a written scope, schedule, and price before work begins, so the number is clear up front. See our Midlands fence cost guide for real price ranges by material and linear foot.
Quality vinyl is UV-stabilized to resist fading and yellowing, so it holds its color for years. We install commercial-grade vinyl built for South Carolina sun, not the thin big-box panels that chalk and discolor early.
Yes. Set on posts in proper concrete footings and spaced to spec, vinyl flexes and holds in storm wind. Solid-privacy panels catch more wind, so post depth and spacing matter, and that's exactly what we engineer into the written scope before we build.
Yes. On a grade we rack or step the panels so the fence follows the slope and stays level and gap-free. We'll walk your yard and show you which approach fits before any work starts.
