Matte black aluminum boards- Two materials, each doing its job
Aluminum for the frame and the lines, vinyl for the infill and the low upkeep. Neither part rusts, rots or needs paint.
- Vertical or horizontal
The infill boards install either way from the same frame, so the panel can read traditional or modern.
- An aluminum infill option
Catalyst also offers the frame with matte black aluminum infill boards, for an all-metal panel.
- An optional screen topper
A mesh screen upper panel is available with any infill color, on the matte black top.
- Rails that stay straight
Catalyst's StayStraight® construction guards the rails against bending and sagging in any weather.
- Color that holds
SolarGuard® fade resistance keeps the finish from chalking or yellowing in full Carolina sun.
- Made by Catalyst, installed by us
Catalyst Fence Solutions manufactures the Riverside, and the image above is its product visualization, not a photograph of a Chonko Construction job. We are the installing builder.
The Riverside comes in three infill options.

Height 6 feet.

Height 6 feet.

- checkPanel widths. 6 feet. Walk gates and drive gates are built to match the panel, and we set post depth and spacing to the height you choose. The decorative screen top is available with any infill panel color.
Pick the Riverside when the fence is part of the architecture.
Catalyst's urban design note is the matte black frame against a lighter infill, which is the whole look.
Pale vinyl in a black frame reads graphic; a woodgrain infill in the same frame reads warm.
The screen topper turns a 6 foot privacy panel into something that finishes deliberately instead of stopping.
- air
The all-vinyl version. Catalyst points to the Largo for the same open horizontal design in full vinyl.

- Posts
- Posts set in concrete footings, with the screen topper added to the frame where specified.
- Top rail
- Catalyst builds its vinyl fence on ten named top rails: Element Grand, Element LX Premium, Element Limited, Element Reserve, Element Signature, Element Base, Vertex Grand, Vertex Signature, Vertex Base and Apex. Which one your panel carries follows the grade and the panel size, so it is confirmed on the order rather than chosen off a page.
Post caps are a choice, not a default.
- check_circle
Both accent lines. A mixed-material fence can take the vinyl caps (Pyramid, Internal, Gothic, New England, Ball, Neptune, Federation, Contemporary and Solar) or the aluminum ones, depending on which part of the panel the post belongs to.
- check_circle
The solar cap lights the line. Catalyst's Solar Post Cap puts off-the-grid landscape lighting on the posts, with no wiring to run.

Pick it with the style. The cap is the part of the fence you see at eye level from the house. We price the caps with the panels, so it is one number rather than a change order later.
Top rail profiles
drawn to scale, 10 in the programWhich rail your panel carries follows its grade and size, so it is confirmed on the order rather than chosen off a page. Three of the ten are supplied through Catalyst’s lineal program.
For the Riverside, the number moves with linear footage first, then the height you choose (6 ft), the gates, and the ground the posts go into. The full breakdown of what moves a mixed-material fence price is on the mixed-material fence page; we set the exact figure in writing after we walk the property.
Want real numbers? Our mixed material fence cost guide breaks down what a mixed-material fence runs per linear foot in the Midlands, and the all-materials fence cost guide compares it to the other fence types. Whatever your number, it is set in the contract before any post hole is dug.
Warranty and Who Installs It
Two warranties cover a Riverside we install.
Catalyst backs its fence with a transferable limited lifetime warranty; the warranty document carries the terms.
Chonko Construction is a licensed home builder, license #52210, and the installation carries our named workmanship warranty.
Licensed South Carolina home builder, SC Residential Builders License #52210. One contract covers the panels, the posts, the gates and the installer.
Mixed-material in the Midlands
Neither part of a mixed-material fence minds the Midlands.
- Humidity. The aluminum does not rust and the vinyl does not rot.
- Sun. Powder coat on the frame, UV-stabilized vinyl in the infill.
- Wind. The framed panels carry storm wind well, and the posts are set in concrete to hold the run.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a mixed-material fence need more upkeep?add
No. The aluminum is powder coated and the vinyl is UV-stabilized. There is nothing to paint or stain on either part.
Can the frame and the infill be different colors?add
That is the design. The frame is matte black and the infill comes in its own color list, so the contrast is deliberate.
What is the screen topper?add
A mesh screen upper panel that sits on the matte black top. It is optional and works with any infill color.
What is a aluminum and vinyl fence?add
The Riverside is a mixed-material panel: a matte black aluminum frame holding interlocking vinyl infill boards. The Riverside is Catalyst Fence Solutions' version of it, and Chonko Construction installs it across Columbia and the Midlands under one written contract.
What heights does the Riverside come in?add
6 ft. We match the height to the job: privacy and pool code want the taller end, a front-yard boundary usually wants the shorter.
Can the Riverside be installed on a slope?add
Yes. On a grade we rack or step the panels so the fence follows the slope and stays level, and we show you which approach fits before any post is set.
