Warranty and Who Installs It

Two warranties cover a Boulder we install.

Manufacturer warranty

Catalyst backs its fence with a transferable limited lifetime warranty; the warranty document carries the terms.

Named workmanship warranty

Chonko Construction is a licensed home builder, license #52210, and the installation carries our named workmanship warranty.

Installed by Chonko Construction

Licensed South Carolina home builder, SC Residential Builders License #52210. One contract covers the panels, the posts, the gates and the installer.

Composite in the Midlands

A molded panel is built for the Midlands.

  • Humidity. It does not rot and does not feed termites.
  • Sun. The color runs through the panel, so there is no paint layer to chalk or peel.
  • Grade. On a sloped lot the panels step with the ground, and the posts are set in concrete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Boulder really reduce noise?add

Catalyst designs the SimTek panel to absorb noise, and the weight of a solid molded panel is why. It is the style we reach for on a road frontage. We do not publish a decibel figure because Catalyst does not.

How tall can the Boulder go?add

Panels come in 4 and 6 foot heights and stack to 96 inch and 144 inch, so 8 and 12 feet are standard rather than custom.

Does the stone texture fade?add

The color runs through the panel and the material is UV-stabilized, so there is no paint layer to chalk or peel. A rinse with a hose is the maintenance.

What is a stone look fence?add

The Boulder is not an extruded vinyl fence. It is a heavy molded polyethylene panel with a stone face, cast as one piece and reinforced with steel. The Boulder is Catalyst Fence Solutions' version of it, and Chonko Construction installs it across Columbia and the Midlands under one written contract.

What heights does the Boulder come in?add

4 to 8 ft. We match the height to the job: privacy and pool code want the taller end, a front-yard boundary usually wants the shorter.

Can the Boulder be installed on a slope?add

Yes. On a grade we rack or step the panels so the fence follows the slope and stays level, and we show you which approach fits before any post is set.

Which colors does the Boulder come in?add

5 colors: Beige Granite, Brown Granite, Dark Brown Granite, Gray Granite, Dark Gray Granite. Ask which are quick-ship, because it changes the start date.
