The rail count sets how much the fence contains and how much it simply marks.
- The view is the point
Catalyst's framing: the open style sets boundaries without compromising the view.
- Multiple powder-coated finishes
Black, Bronze and White, with custom finishes available.
- A finish that is baked on
Every aluminum component is powder coated before assembly, so there are no bare spots, and SolarGuard® keeps the color from fading.
- Made by Catalyst, installed by us
Catalyst Fence Solutions manufactures the Coronado aluminum ranch rail, and the image above is its product visualization, not a photograph of a Chonko Construction job. We are the installing builder.
The aluminum Coronado is offered in one tier and three colors.

Heights 3, 4 and 5 feet.
- checkPanel widths. 8 feet. Walk gates and drive gates are built to match the panel, and we set post depth and spacing to the height you choose. Posts are 4 inch.
Pick the aluminum Coronado for a rail fence that will not need anything done to it.
The classic ranch rail profile, in a material that does not rot or need repainting.
Catalyst names both, and the open style suits a property where the view matters.
Three or four rails along an approach mark it without enclosing it.
- air
The vinyl version. Catalyst's vinyl Coronado is the same profile with the woodgrain finish options.

Three finials. Triad, Quad and Fleur-de-lis finials sit on the post in place of a flat cap.
- straighten
Rail adornments. Butterfly scrolls and circles mount into the rails themselves, which is what separates a decorative aluminum run from a plain one.
- check_circle
The solar cap lights the line. Catalyst's Solar Post Cap puts off-the-grid landscape lighting on the posts, with no wiring to run.

Pick it with the style. The cap is the part of the fence you see at eye level from the house. We price the caps with the panels, so it is one number rather than a change order later.
For the Coronado, the number moves with linear footage first, then the height you choose (3 to 5 ft), the gates, and the ground the posts go into. The full breakdown of what moves an aluminum fence price is on the aluminum fence page; we set the exact figure in writing after we walk the property.
Want real numbers? Our aluminum fence cost guide breaks down what an aluminum fence runs per linear foot in the Midlands, and the all-materials fence cost guide compares it to the other fence types. Whatever your number, it is set in the contract before any post hole is dug.
Warranty and Who Installs It
Two warranties cover a Coronado we install.
Catalyst backs its fence with a transferable limited lifetime warranty; the warranty document carries the terms.
Chonko Construction is a licensed home builder, license #52210, and the installation carries our named workmanship warranty.
Licensed South Carolina home builder, SC Residential Builders License #52210. One contract covers the panels, the posts, the gates and the installer.
Aluminum in the Midlands
Aluminum is the low-fuss fence for the Midlands.
- Humidity. Aluminum does not rust, and the powder coat is baked on.
- Heat. Summer heat does nothing to it.
- Wind. Open pickets let storm wind through, so the panels carry less load than a solid fence, and the posts are set in concrete to hold the line.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as the vinyl Coronado?add
No. Catalyst uses the name on two different products. This is the aluminum ranch rail; the vinyl Coronado is the other one, and it offers TimberGrain™ woodgrain finishes.
Will an aluminum rail fence hold an animal?add
On its own, no. Open rail is a boundary. Containment means adding mesh behind the rails, which we scope on the call.
What colors does it come in?add
Black, Bronze and White, and Catalyst offers custom finishes.
What is a aluminum rail fence?add
The aluminum Coronado is open rail fencing in metal: two, three or four rails between posts, and nothing between them. The Coronado is Catalyst Fence Solutions' version of it, and Chonko Construction installs it across Columbia and the Midlands under one written contract.
What heights does the Coronado come in?add
3 to 5 ft. We match the height to the job: privacy and pool code want the taller end, a front-yard boundary usually wants the shorter.
Can the Coronado be installed on a slope?add
Yes. On a grade we rack or step the panels so the fence follows the slope and stays level, and we show you which approach fits before any post is set.
