- Neighborhoods with codes
Catalyst's own framing: a solution for neighborhoods with pool and wind codes.
- An optional puppy picket
A closer-spaced lower section for pets and small children.
- High-grade materials
The catalog's phrase, on a fence whose job is to satisfy an inspector.
- A finish that is baked on
Every aluminum component is powder coated before assembly, so there are no bare spots, and SolarGuard® keeps the color from fading.
- Made by Catalyst, installed by us
Catalyst Fence Solutions manufactures the Salem, and the image above is its product visualization, not a photograph of a Chonko Construction job. We are the installing builder.
The Salem is offered in one color.

Heights 4, 4 1/2 and 5 feet, in standard bottom and flush bottom configurations. Catalyst offers further powder-coat finishes beyond Black, so ask and we will price what is orderable.
- checkPanel widths. 6 feet. Walk gates and drive gates are built to match the panel, and we set post depth and spacing to the height you choose.
Pick the Salem when a pool fence still has to look like something.
Built for it, with the finial top so the enclosure is not purely functional.
The spear finial gives a 4 foot fence enough presence to belong at the front of a house.
The optional puppy picket handles the lower gaps.
- air
A plainer top. The Manchester aluminum is the same code performance with a flat top.

Rail adornments. Butterfly scrolls and circles mount into the rails themselves, which is what separates a decorative aluminum run from a plain one.

The solar cap lights the line. Catalyst's Solar Post Cap puts off-the-grid landscape lighting on the posts, with no wiring to run.

Pick it with the style. The cap is the part of the fence you see at eye level from the house. We price the caps with the panels, so it is one number rather than a change order later.
For the Salem, the number moves with linear footage first, then the height you choose (4 to 5 ft), the gates, and the ground the posts go into. The full breakdown of what moves an aluminum fence price is on the aluminum fence page; we set the exact figure in writing after we walk the property.
Want real numbers? Our aluminum fence cost guide breaks down what an aluminum fence runs per linear foot in the Midlands, and the all-materials fence cost guide compares it to the other fence types. Whatever your number, it is set in the contract before any post hole is dug.
Warranty and Who Installs It
Two warranties cover a Salem we install.
Catalyst backs its fence with a transferable limited lifetime warranty; the warranty document carries the terms.
Chonko Construction is a licensed home builder, license #52210, and the installation carries our named workmanship warranty.
Licensed South Carolina home builder, SC Residential Builders License #52210. One contract covers the panels, the posts, the gates and the installer.
Aluminum in the Midlands
Aluminum is the low-fuss fence for the Midlands.
- Humidity. Aluminum does not rust, and the powder coat is baked on.
- Heat. Summer heat does nothing to it.
- Wind. Open pickets let storm wind through, so the panels carry less load than a solid fence, and the posts are set in concrete to hold the line.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Salem pool code compliant?add
Catalyst builds it for neighborhoods with pool and wind codes. Pool barrier code turns on height, gaps and gate hardware, so we check the code for your address and specify a height and gate that meet it before anything is ordered.
How many colors does the Salem come in?add
Black is the color Catalyst offers in this style. Further powder-coat finishes come through a sales representative, and we confirm what is orderable before quoting.
What is the flush bottom option?add
The pickets run closer to the ground instead of stopping above the bottom rail, which closes the gap under the fence on a flat run.
What is a spear top aluminum fence?add
The Salem is a pool-and-wind-code picket with spear-shaped finials on top. The Salem is Catalyst Fence Solutions' version of it, and Chonko Construction installs it across Columbia and the Midlands under one written contract.
What heights does the Salem come in?add
4 to 5 ft. We match the height to the job: privacy and pool code want the taller end, a front-yard boundary usually wants the shorter.
Can the Salem be installed on a slope?add
Yes. On a grade we rack or step the panels so the fence follows the slope and stays level, and we show you which approach fits before any post is set.
